EMDR Therapy Overview

Estimated watch time: 62 mins
Available credits: none
Speaker: Dr. Carol Clark, LMHC, CAP, CST

This presentation will describe to the general community how EMDR can help alleviate both major and minor traumatic symptoms and help remove barriers to optimal functioning. Many people suffer needlessly from traumatic life events – military service, physical/sexual/emotional abuse, accidents, etc. – and EMDR is incredibly effective treating trauma in a way that talk therapy cannot.

Objectives:

  1. Define EMDR
  2. Describe the basics of how it works
  3. Identify when it is appropriate to use

About the Speaker:

Dr. Carol Clark is certified in Sex Therapy, Transgender Care, Addiction, and EMDR Therapy. She has extensive experience treating therapeutic issues ranging from sex addiction to gender transition. She is owner of several schools where she provides the education and supervision to clinicians who wish to specialize in these areas. Dr. Clark is author of the book, Addict America: The Lost Connection, which is based on the innovative premise that addiction is not limited to drugs or alcohol, but is based on the innovative premise that addiction is not limited to drugs or alcohol, but is truly about the over-the-top, out-of-control lifestyles that have detached Americans from each other and their spiritual Connections (with a capital “C”).
