What to Expect at The Recovery Village

Choosing to begin addiction treatment can transform your entire life. Find out what to expect from rehab so you can start with confidence.

Checking into Inpatient Rehab

Admission times are scheduled to ensure that each individual arriving at our facilities receives the dedicated attention of our care team. Please note that late arrivals may result in wait times.

Upon arrival, the facility staff will conduct a mandatory search of your person and belongings to maintain the well-being and sobriety of all residents in our facilities.

Any items not permitted during treatment will be securely stored until your stay ends. Additionally, occasional searches may occur throughout your stay at any of our facilities.

Our Treatment Process for Addiction

Patients at our facilities begin drug and alcohol rehab at the level of care that best suits their individual needs. As they progress in their recovery from addiction, they may transition to less intensive levels of care. Many patients start with a medical detox, followed by inpatient treatment and progress through each stage of care.

Our Treatment Process for Primary Mental Health Needs

Inpatient mental health rehab empowers patients to focus entirely on their mental health condition within the supportive environment of our specialized treatment centers. Our subacute treatment program caters to people seeking residential psychiatric care, provided they pose no immediate danger to themselves or others.

Length of Stay

The length of your stay at The Recovery Village facilities may vary based on your chosen program, personalized treatment plan, recovery progress, and insurance coverage. Generally, patients may receive:

Will I be forced to stay in treatment?

We strongly encourage all patients to complete their treatment plan, as leaving too early may increase the risk of relapse and overdose. However, individuals have the right to exit treatment at any time, even against medical advice, provided there is no immediate danger to themselves or others.

Living at the Facility

Once you’ve decided to start treatment at one of our facilities, you can begin preparing for your stay with us.

What to Pack

Travel Arrangements

Our dedicated Recovery Advocates ensure your safe and timely arrival at any of our centers, regardless of your starting location. You can choose to plan your travel independently, or we can assist with travel arrangements. We also provide pick-up services from airports, bus stations, or train stations and rideshare scheduling within a certain distance of our facilities.

Sleeping Arrangements

Accommodations at The Recovery Village facilities aim to provide a comforting retreat throughout your recovery. Most rooms are shared with one or two fellow patients, which can be a great chance to connect with others during difficult times.

Following the inpatient level, most facilities offer separate accommodations for PHP clients. Patients share rooms and bathrooms with their peers at all levels of care. The number of residents in each room may depend on their recovery stage and care needs.

Food and Nutrition

Our facilities feature full cafeterias with meals prepared by our onsite culinary team. Typically, several options are available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, including vegetarian and vegan choices. Each nutritious and delicious meal is designed to support patients’ physical and mental health during recovery. Snacks are also provided. Outside snacks or meals are not permitted. Please inform us of any food allergies or dietary needs before your arrival so we can accommodate your needs.

Housekeeping and Laundry

Patients are responsible for keeping their rooms clean and doing their laundry to foster independence and accountability. Certain housekeeping services, such as trash removal and linen change, are provided at the medical detox and inpatient levels of care.

Phone Policy

At most facilities, staff securely store cell phones upon arrival after a safety call to loved ones. From that point, patients have a 72-hour phone-free period before accessing facility phones. Some facilities do not allow phone use during the entire detox period to focus on rest. Other facilities in our network allow limited cell phone use during care, with a safety strip over the camera.

Your facility’s packing list can provide specific details on the phone policy at your location.

Family Visits and Therapy

Rebuilding relationships with loved ones is an important part of the treatment process. Some may benefit from long-distance or virtual family therapy, while others may need in-person visits. Family therapy sessions are generally offered as clinically appropriate.

Office Visits

While undergoing treatment at our facilities, offsite opportunities such as additional support group meetings and recreational therapies may or may not be available. Your facility, level of care and medical needs will determine the availability of offsite visits.

Ask Our Recovery Advocates

Our Recovery Advocates can answer your questions about our addiction treatment programs and life at any of The Recovery Village facilities.

When you call, inform your intake coordinator that you want to speak to a Recovery Advocate.

Insurance and Your Obligation

Nearly all health insurance plans require you to pay some out-of-pocket costs to access your healthcare benefits (collectively, the “Patient Responsibility”).

An intake coordinator will review your Patient Responsibility with you during admission or as soon as you are medically stable. They will explain the deductible is due during admission and that the co-insurance amount and out-of-pocket balance will be billed and paid for once services are complete. Onsite financial counselors will review your financial responsibility again during treatment with case managers who can help you navigate FMLA and short-term disability.

Before admitting to any of The Recovery Village facilities, you must check with your insurance provider to ensure you understand your individual benefits plan. Your insurance plan may not be a “participating provider” with our facilities. You are responsible for all non-covered and out-of-pocket costs related to your treatment stay.

Your Privacy Is Our Priority

All admissions calls are confidential. At The Recovery Village Drug and Alcohol Rehab, you will fill out forms that only allow us to discuss important information with the people you designate per HIPAA guidelines. In addition, no information will be disclosed to any party without your written, documented consent.
