As part of The Recovery Village’s national network of facilities, The Recovery Village Kansas City Outpatient Center focuses on providing comprehensive, personalized care for substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns. Our holistic treatment model ensures an integrated experience that meets clients at every phase of recovery.
While we do not offer the same residential amenities found in inpatient settings, our outpatient center delivers a broad range of evidence-based therapies and specialized programs aimed at trauma recovery and healthy behavior management, including:
Our outpatient programs are designed to fit into your daily schedule, enabling you to receive professional support while fulfilling personal and professional responsibilities. This approach promotes the real-world application of coping skills learned in treatment.
For severe opioid or alcohol use disorders, approved medications may be beneficial when medically appropriate. Medication-assisted treatment reduces the risk of relapse and cravings.
It’s very common to have co-occurring mental health disorders along with an addiction to drugs or alcohol. Dual diagnosis care treats both simultaneously to optimize your outcomes in recovery.
After completing a rehab program, you receive continued support through treatment provider referrals, information about support groups, relapse prevention plans and access to additional resources.
Our on-site MAT program may include medications such as Suboxone, Vivitrol, or Sublocade to help alleviate cravings and ease withdrawal symptoms. Treatment decisions are made in consultation with our medical team following a thorough assessment.
Consists of weekly individual and group therapy sessions. Family therapy can be used in place of individual therapy if it aligns better with your recovery plan.
Provides more frequent individual counseling and group therapy sessions, typically three hours a day, three days per week. Family therapy may be included based on your specific needs and treatment goals.
Allows clients to connect with therapists remotely for individual sessions and offers virtual participation in IOP group therapy each week.
Available amenities and activities may differ depending on the level of care.

Most health insurance policies will partially or completely cover addiction or mental health treatment services. The Recovery Village Kansas City Outpatient Center accepts most major insurance plans except Medicare and Medicaid. Our team can work with you to verify what your insurance may cover. If services aren’t covered, we can help you locate other facilities that may accept your policy, or we can work together on private pay options.
Outpatient treatment gives people the chance to work on their mental health and substance use concerns while still attending to everyday duties like work, school, or family life. Because it is less intensive and allows for more flexibility than inpatient care, it provides a higher level of autonomy. Outpatient services are particularly helpful for individuals experiencing mild to moderate issues or for those moving from a residential treatment environment back into their daily routines.
Intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) often run for at least a month. After completing an IOP, people commonly transition to a typical outpatient program that can continue for three to nine months. The National Institute on Drug Abuse advises longer treatment periods to improve the chances of lasting recovery.
A Recovery Advocate from our team will speak with you to evaluate your treatment needs and set up your initial appointment. You may be able to start treatment on the very day you call or soon after. When you arrive at our facility, an intake specialist will follow up with a more in-depth conversation to design a personalized treatment plan that addresses your unique concerns and goals.
