Born in North Texas and raised in North Eastern Pennsylvania, Robert Ashford is an advocate for all individuals seeking long-term recovery. Robert holds a bachelor’s of Social Work with minors in Addiction Studies and Psychology from the University of North Texas, and a master’s of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice (SP2). Robert is also currently pursuing his PhD in Health Policy at the University of the Sciences.
He is a current national planning partner for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and a past appointee to the Council for Advising and Planning for the Department of State Health Services in Texas. Robert has served as the National Program Director for Young People in Recovery, as an appointee to the Mayor’s Task Force to End the Opioid Epidemic in Philadelphia, and as a policy fellow for the Hillary Clinton Campaign and the Treatment Research Institute in Philadelphia.
